true, but guess the serverside close is the same if ur telling the server to close. therefore logging of should be still faster than closing the client. d12

logging out with the logout button or closing the client shouldnt give any difference since the logout time depends on ur connection to the server. probably some kind of the same methods get called if u logout or close the client. d12

hey, as i said i suck if it comes to network things was just reading and thats the information i got out of my readings. what u said might be correct. cant rly say that xD ofc its a good option to always use a proxy or vpn in the vm. this should rly be save then as i know. but i highly doubt GGG is banning per router mac address since there would be too many bans for no reason. d12

had some problems with bot wandering outside the range of the items which should be looted. my solution is to set the skill max range to 500 and the safe range to 300. works quite fine.probably not too cool for ranged builds. d12

Hey botters, First of all: If anyone got suggestions or finds some mistakes in my thoughts you are welcome to tell me. I'll also answer to questions if necessary. But please read the whole thread before asking. So since there have been several bans already i decided to write a small tutorial how to setup the vm within vmware player so atleast the main account is save from getting banned. I'll also add performance optimations which might do a big deal or not. (but worth a shot anyways) From my tries Windows 7 32bit seems to work quite well. (2GB RAM, 32GB hard drive, 4 cpu cores) You might go with less cpu. I just dont care giving it a bit more since ill just run one vm since my graphics card cant handle more poe clients anyways I wont explain here how to setup a vm in vmware player since there are plenty of good tutorials out there. But ill try to help you guys make the botting more save against getting banned. (mostly preventing bans on the main account since this seems to be rly important to me) I was reading a bit about the different network connection types in vmware since this seems to be quite important in case of getting banned on several accounts or not. I'm not 100% sure but as it seems the default option (NAT network) isnt a good option to bot in a vm and use the main account on the "real" windows version at the same time. To change this option you can go to the settings of your vm and select the network adapter. In the network connection section u got the possibility to change between bridged, NAT and host-only. In our case we want to run the vm in bridged mode. This will basically make the vm look like a seperate physical computer from the internet. It will have a seperate IP and MAC address. This will use a seperate IP address in your network for any vm connected via bridged mode. So if you dont got enough IP addresses left this isnt a good idea or might be even not possible. But since most ppl out there got some kind of wlan routers this shouldnt be a problem. Since your vm will show up like a seperate physical computer in your network it might be possible to see for GGG that there are other computers playing poe in this network. But if they are not banning per router MAC address (which they wont do in my opinion due to obvious reasons) your main account should be save even if your bot account gets banned. hey, since im looting a shit load of scrolls of wisdom and portal scrolls all the time i would suggest a feature which makes it possible to decide wheter the bot loots scrolls or not. and maybe something similar for gems. like: quality gems only or support gems and quality only, .... didnt rly think of the gem thing yet since its hard to say. cause of other valuable gems like multi. feel free to give ur own suggestions. d12

(only what ppl told me. never used it since i didnt upgrade to w8 yet.) d12

i guess if u get caught the first time theyll just ban ur account. might be, that theyll see which other accounts u traded with or whatever. only guessing. no proove for this yet. d12

hey, about "staying alive is rly important". i didnt rly get the item drop penality yet. but if the character is +2 from the area level it gets some drop penality. wouldnt it be nice to have a "lure" option which lures alot of monsters if on about 90%exp and die? xD since most ppl will use the bot for farming anyways i guess. not as a main lvling char. d12

hey, was running into this issue aswell. for me it isnt waiting. its just doing the normal way. going higher and finally its reaching a "used" instance. ^ some kind of "waiting" ofc xD and it might be a nice improvement to catch the loading screen of areas. since if the loading screen is shown the bot is still doing its new area clicks. if the loading takes too long its getting to a higher mouse position but without any result. next time ur starting a new area ull join the same again... d12

hey, not sure if this is the correct section. but since its snti bot headed it might be. since staying 24/7 at the ledge farming might be a bit strange it would be nice to set different locations which get chosen randomly. so for example u set ledge and mudflats. so if the bot starts its choosing one and sets a number for how many runs in the choosen area. so lets say its choosing ledge and 12runs. then ledge gets cleaned 12 times and then the choosing starts again. without a multiple instance number it would be "too random" in my opinion xD noone is playing 24/7 and doing ledge and mudflats 50:50 thats just an idea. so give me a short feedback if u can waste a minute. d12

hey, i cant feel those lags. but i also got some problems since one of the last patches. like instance crashes (never had one before) and strange graphics were i cant see anything anymore xD (might be the vm aswell) d12
