Running vm on esxi 5.5

I'm about to get a hp server DL380 g5 where i could set several w7 + bot running.

Has Anyone already done it  ?

im not a pro in all these vmware programs.

 

whats the benefit of running a whole esxi system instead of simply vmware workstation?

now i'm running a i5 computer and a core2duo 6600.

I was thinking to stop botting from those computers and run the server instead ( seems to be the same power needs). 

 

This server is a dual quadcore @3ghz + 32 gb ram ecc+ sas drives.

but you're right i need a gpu.

the benefit of esx is that u can run direct the vm = u have not really an main os. Prob is the management of it....like dyna say u need an gpu and u must know the esx os sys. its better u pay the 10-15%of performance for the win workstation as to set up the esx

i know esxi so it won't be a problem. The tricky part will be the gpu because esxi doesn't "know" that kind of hardware and i'll have to set the drivers and i don't even know if it's possible.

I'll try esxi and if i can't i'll set up windows 2012 + vmware workstation.
