Wrong resolution

Hi, can't get the bot to work. I'm using Steam and windows 10.

I change the DirectX to 9 and resolution to 800x600 windowed, but the log says otherwise. Any advice?

You changed the DX to 9, not 9e in the game options, right?

You don't have to do anything about resolution in the game, just make sure it's in windowed mode.

Have you read any of the starter guides? I made one that I believe will go a long way to helping anyone new to this bot.

The last time I used this bot was back in 2015 with v0.53 so I'm a little rusty.

Yes, I'm using DX9 and windowed. The problem seems to be that the bot doesn't recognize that as you can tell by the log:

Have you tried deleting the entire bot folder and starting fresh?

Same goes for the game. Have you tried uninstalling it and starting fresh?

It's all fresh. Just started up again after 3 year break  I'm gonna try to test without steam-client I think

Not sure what you mean by stand-alone. But, I'm glad you have it working.

Stand-alone is the game without Steam client. Still can't get it to work. I tried disconnecting my wide screen monitors, and connected only one with a standard 1920x1080 resolution. Yet the bot log still says 2560x1080 and blank on the DX field. I have tried new drivers and uninstalled displayFusion that I thought maybe were the culprit. Anyone got a suggestion what to try next?

That sounds like some kind of bug related to something on your end.

Are your video drivers up to date?

!My bad, I sometimes read things incorrectly. I thought you said it was working on stand alone.

I made sure to have the latest DX installed and my drivers are always up-to-date. BTW, I run nVidia on my system. 

Speaking of which, there's a new driver out today for Nvidia Graphics Cards.

Ok, I'll check it out. Btw, do you know where the bot get the resolution information from? Is it possible to force it to 800x600 in one of the *.ini files?

Getting this no matter what I do:

Could it be a problem with my monitor setup? I have a 4 monitor setup, using  a GeForce GTX 1070 to run them all. Does the bot get the resolution from one of the other monitors than the one running the game maybe?

The file is production_Config.ini

In my case, it's under C:\Users\NAME\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile

Lines 61 and 62

I found it yesterday so I could change screen resolution and windowing between botting and running by hand.

800x600 is rather small on 1920x1080 monitor

Someone in the Slack channel had your same problem, not exactly, but close.

They stated that they changed the DirectX 9 and it works now.

Progress! The resolution is now showing the correct value.

The only place to do anything with DX is in-game options

Success!
I inserted this line here under [Display] in the production_Config.ini file:
directx_version=9

That forced the game to start up with DX9, and the bot works!
