Are there more reasons other than the mouse as to why people run this on a VM?

I was just wondering because I'd like to set up a bot on a VM or VPS to be able to use my computer freely as it takes over the mouse. I tried to set it up on a VPS but you can't run DirectX over a remote connection. I was wondering if you could do this with a VM, and if so how?
